Your 4-day adventure begins with a 7:00 am pick-up from your riad or hotel in Fez. You'll embark on a journey that leads you across the Middle Atlas region. Along the way, you'll pass through Irfan, Midelt, Errachidia, Erfoud, and Rissani, with a stop for lunch in one of the cities or villages, depending on weather conditions.
The day's travel will take you through breathtaking landscapes, including forests, steep rocks, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and descend into the Sahara Desert. Your journey culminates at the Kasbah of Merzouga, where you'll have the opportunity to refresh with a hot shower or a dip in the pool (weather permitting). Dinner will be served at the Kasbah, where you'll spend the night.
After breakfast, your day begins with visits to the local village of Khamliya, inhabited by Gnawa people of African origin who have made the Moroccan desert their home. You'll also explore the town of Rissani and its bustling souk, offering an array of local products.
In the afternoon, you'll embark on a camel trek to cross the sand dunes and uncover the secrets of the desert. The journey will lead you to a pristine oasis, allowing you to relish the silence of the desert, the beauty of nature, and a magnificent sunset. Your evening will include dinner and an overnight stay in a Berber tent at the base of one of Erg Chebbi's highest dunes.
Following breakfast and a refreshing shower, you'll depart for Ouarzazate via the Toudra Gorges, located just 14 kilometers from Tinghir. You'll pass through the village of Boumalen Dades and the Kalaat M'Gouna, known as the "Valley of Roses," famous for its annual Rose Festival held in May. The journey will then lead to Skoura before reaching Ouarzazate.
In Ouarzazate, you'll have the opportunity to explore its renowned Kasbah, Taourirt, and the movie studios where many international films have been produced. You'll also have the option to visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site, just a short drive away. The day will conclude with dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel in Ouarzazate.
After breakfast, your journey continues towards Marrakech. Before departing Ouarzazate, you'll have the opportunity to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a historic site that requires at least an hour to explore. As you continue your drive, you'll have the chance to marvel at the beautiful landscapes and sceneries of the Atlas Mountains.
Lunch will be provided in a restaurant along the route. Your journey concludes in Marrakech, where you'll be dropped off at your desired location.
